Ascension Day—the day on which the church around the world celebrates Jesus’ ascension to heaven—was last Thursday. Many of you know that because the Dutch celebrated it as a national holiday, Hemelvaartsdag, even though a growing number of people in the Netherlands have no idea what this day is about; indeed, today this “holy day” is the “runt of the litter” of all “holy days.” But, in fact, Ascension Day is of critical importance to the followers of Jesus! It’s one of those days that established Jesus’ resurrection reign of the whole creation! What does this mean for you? How does this change things for us? Come and hear!
