One universal truth for all times which we find in today’s Bible passages is: even though we prefer to think of ourselves as rational beings, we are also emotional, relational, and social creatures who are prone to being deceived. We are prone to believe the evil one’s lies about what will make us happy. The counter strategy? The transformation of our minds by God’s Spirit and truth as we practice the way of Jesus.
