All is not as it Seems

God tells his story in the Scriptures through the lives of nomadic shepherds. People who do not live in brick houses or big cities. These people are not culture influencers. If not for these stories they would have been forgotten by history. Yet He is pleased to tell his own story though their vulnerable lives. David the shepherd become king knows the Lord as "my shepherd". His great grandson Jesus of Nazareth in Jerusalem preached sermons saying that he was the Good Shepherd of Gods people. He is good because he cares about the one sheep that is lost. He is willing to risk it all for the one that wandered away from the fold. The Jewish philosopher and theologian A.J. Heschel envisions God as being in search of man. In Jesus Christ God has come to those who are lost, wondering and those who do not have their lives together.
