You have heard, I am sure, that Thomas has been misunderstood. Instead of “doubting Thomas,” for example, we are told that we should remember him for his extraordinary statement of faith at the end of the story. So, what really happened in the upper room when Jesus appeared (post-resurrection) to his disciples? It’s a wonderful story, and during the season of Easter we have an opportunity to re-visit several of those stories about Jesus and his Easter appearances. On Sunday, I invite you to look at Thomas with a new appreciation for the way he comes to faith. Spoiler alert: We need a few more disciples like him!
